Brigham Young University basketball player recognized in the postseason nit All

San Bruno, Calif., (February 28, 2012)-The West Coast Conference announces its 2011-12 women’s basketball award today with BYU’s Christian Riley received an honorary player of the year. 

Student Lexi Eaton named Co-Newcomer years together with Haiden Gonzaga’s Palmer. Eaton also made the All-freshman team. Riley and Haley Steed named All-Conference Team. All nine League coaches selected awards.

Riley led the Cougars in points and averaged 11.8 ppg and 7.9 rbs rebounds. In Conference games, he ranked fifth in scoring, the first in rebounds, fourth in field goal percentage, second in 3-point field goal percentage, fifth in block shots and first in defensive rebounds.

During the season he recorded eight CLASSICAL WCC double-doubles and becomes BYU’s 22nd player to reach 1,000 points in his career.

Eaton was BYU’s second leading scorer averaged 10.2 ppg and 4.0 rpg while Steed over on the team in assists and steals the 215 with 66 apiece. He currently ranks second in career assists and broke the school record for assists in a single season.
